Below is a Message from Indianola's Superintendent
Mission Statement of Indianola Public Schools
The mission of Indianola Public Schools is based on the concept that the school exists for the development of the individual student; mentally, physically and spiritually, so that he/she might make a contribution to society. We are to educate the whole child so that he/she will attain the highest possible level of mental, academic, and moral growth.
The school must teach students to understand and appreciate the traditions of democracy, develop qualities of self-control, self-direction; and to be able to work in cooperative endeavors.
Students will have an academic understanding of reading, writing, speaking, listening, mathematics, science and computers to prepare for their future endeavors.
We are to convey the acceptance of all-- regardless of race, color, gender, creed or national origin; and to provide a climate which promotes a sense of fair play, honesty, integrity, civic duty and cooperation.
All students will develop critical thinking, independent reasoning and be responsive to the needs of a changing society.
Indianola Public Schools is to guide and instruct students in the quest for knowledge; and to develop the capacity to assume responsibility after they leave Indianola Public Schools.
